Has anyone here dealt with these b4?

I'm in the process of selling off my Camera gear and so I decided to try a few items with this company.

They've sent me a quote for prices they will offer after I had told them what condition they were in, they ofc still have to check them their end.

They schedule free insured shipping with DHL drop off.

I don't have boxes for my stuff so do DHL have their own packaging for what after all is fragile equipment.

actually reading up the email they sent me it's to much hassle for a lazy sod like me.

Getting a box is the only hassle. DHL come out to your house and pick it up.

Personally, I always keep the boxes for my cameras and lenses. I sold 5 lenses though MPB last year, and all I needed was a big box to contain them all. Used a box from an Amazon delivery.

As you don't have the original boxes, you could just use a big box and a load of bubble-wrap.

If you're not inclined to pack them at all, then I guess selling yourself on Done Deal/Adverts for pickup (potential to make more money, but you're also swapping the minor hassle of getting a box with the major hassle of dealing with fools), or dropping them into your local CEX would be options.

Perfect company to deal with.Used them twice in the last six months, money in the bank within a week.DHL collected each item,I was able to track all the way.Got an e-mail on arrival and a follow-up when the money was transfered.I have also bought items and also a great service.

Yeah they're good to deal with. For selling stuff to, at least. If you are buying older lenses their grading can be a bit optimistic so you should test as soon as you receive, and return if necessary.

I shipped three lenses exactly 13 days ago and still waiting to hear from them!

I received one email over a week ago stating they received the items and apologized that they are extremely busy and will get back to me.

    Still waiting :(

It's been a while since I have been looking at the second hand market but this evening I was browsing MPB EU site. Trade in value Vs listed price spread seems to have increased an awful lot. Has anyone noticed this? It feels like trade in value is not far off reasonable but selling prices quote are very high. Resale price >20% higher than trade in offered

I do think their selling prices are a bit high. Been looking at Sony A7iv and Sony A9ii. MPB do a 6 month warranty, but you can get either one new, a fair bit cheaper and with a longer warranty from Panamoz (3 years) or e-infinity (12 months). MPB are obviously cheaper than full-price legit retail, where you get manufactures warranty - so there's no comparison there, you chose to pay more for the peace of mind buying retail. But in my mind buying second-hand, even with a sellers warranty is of similar or greater risk than buying a grey import from a reputable company. So I don't personally see the point in buying second hand with an inferior warranty when I could get it brand new, with a longer warranty, cheaper.

They gave me €460 for an eleven year old Sony A mount 70-400 G SSM, which I was happy with as it's an old lens that had a later revision that improved it, for a mount that is no longer in production (and the lens doesn't work particularly well adapted to E-mount), so it wouldn't be all that easy to sell. They currently have my specific one up for €669. €209 markup for them (not taking the shipping costs they covered into account). I'm not sure if that lens will ever sell at that price, but they're the experts.

Agree with the last 2 posters. They are very fair to deal with when trading-in. However, pricing a camera recently - I can get it cheaper here in Ireland from a retail shop. I think their secondhand prices are not such a good deal any more.
