I've a 2011 petrol Qashqai that has just started to make a strange noise when ideal.

Sounds like an raffle wheel which has a flicker.

Like a piece of tape has broken off.

Sounds is coming from behind the pedals.

My mechanic can't get to it until next week and hasn't heard of it before.

Have another car so can be parked up but wondering has anyone heard of this issue before?

    Thanks

Does it happen all the time, for example when car is cold and when car has been run for 20 plus minutes?

Your Description suggests a leaf or something hitting the heater fan blades, try adjusting fan speed to see if noise changes.

I expect it is the under-guard engine protection as this is roughly where it be... just jack it up and take off the wheel and have a look...
