Have a bunch picked out for Lingfield... might (or mayn't 😂) trim dem doon a lil; but if they all good prices, then I might be inclined to do em all..

    Lingfield

1.00 STANLEY PINCOMBE , BAY OF INTRIGUE , HIT THE ROCKS , ACE TIME

    1.35 COUSU MAIN , SALLYANN

2.10 ECLAIR DE GUYE , GAME LINE , VINNIE DEV , ECHO WATT

2.45 DO YOU THINK , EAVESDROPPING , OUR BILL'S AUNT

3.20 FERN HILL , TALLOW FOR COAL , CLONDAW PROMISE , ILLEGAL MODEL , MOVETHECHAINS

    3.55 SHOT BOII , IMMORTAL FAME , WORLD TRIP , GAIA VALLIS , BELLAMY'S GREY , COOLVALLA , ADVANTURA

That's a daysint bunch to be whittling away at - in my humble

C'est tout pour t'nonce... I might be back laterer to put forth a few opinions and insights, or indeed to just ruminate about all nd sundry.. tis mainly dependent on the theory of a mon called Schrödinger, who owned an unnamed feline

I was expecting to see that list revised by now, leff 😂 you're not backing them all for sure.

I'm looking at Newcastle cards, 4:40 race class 3, 6 runners is not what I'm typically interested in but Onesmoothoperator is ultra consistent and nearly won class2 contest last time in southwell, today has a claimer jockey to offset penalty for that effort and is fresh after a short break. Favorite Resumption has 2 CD wins to his record but the last one was two horse race (3rd involved pulled up), previous to that he won in great fashion but today he's 13lb higher than that class 5 effort, he might be on serious upgrade and bomb in here today, I wished I could find more holes in his CV but I can't, and Onesmoothoperator was at least 2/1 but he's shorter 9/5, so I probably leave it be, unless I can't find anything more tempting in the rest of the meeting.

I'm on these 3 today in Newcastle: 5:45 Shalaa Asker was very close over CD last twice, off the same mark today; 6:15 Tell'em Nowt is back to Newcastle where he scored twice after a spin in Southwell over 5f that probably didn't suit; 7:45 Brocturne Red was very close 2nd here last time, close to the same conditions tonight for him to go one better, all e/w. GL.

5:15 Decoding is 4yo in mostly 3yo race, leff says it's a good thing, there other one interesting is Thewaytothestars - pleasing debut and might be able to build on that, I was looking at betting w/o fav market but it's wrong horse that imho that's now favorite, so no bet.

6:45 Alaskan Jewel won impressively last time in wolves when bursting through at the very last minute, from last to first but it's 7 runner race, only 2 places pay, no bet again.

That's about it for today's entertainment. Now back to cleaning, cooking and sorting...

    I backed narys the one j@u 😊

Disappointment semi set in when I saw going had changed to heavy (from soft) .... that weren't so bad,,, they is similar enough the soft and heavy going afaic,, neither of which helps nor hinders them any more than any of the other participants (I had a reasonable look having seen going change, at most of the picks, and figured soft,, heavy, whatever the ground, was much of a muchness..) , in the main,,

Then I seen a rake o non runners early doors this morn, which lessened field sizes and only 2 places, eg in race one..

As well as that the prices were poor enough to begin with, but all's I could see on Irishracing was a rake of 'red arrows' (horses shortening in price)

Prices weren't big enough, nor were many of them any value.. I was pondering whether I'd go win and each way on the ones at an (just about) each way price - 9/2 or so - or bigger than that.. thinking about going each way only on 5/2 - 4/1,, 😂 and go win on the very shorties... that's how bad it were,, was trying to justify backing about half my total picks (it seemed like half anyway) each way, even though about 10 of them were less than 5/1,, thing is there were too many shorties 😪 Just thought: "nah, ta hail with that" ... I was thinking average price on all the picks combined (going on the 'probable sp' under racecards) would be ~ 7/1 , and maybe 1/3 or so would be +10/1.. not a ruddy bar of it,,

And 'the straw' : Looked at race 6 - where I had 7 picked, with likely 5 places - , and, out of the six that were still due to run, 5 were in top six in betting..smh,, how bad is my luck I thought, that I'd have my pen land on a load of sub 10/1 pokes - was hoping 2 or 3 at least would be 12s or bigger... Inertia/annoyance, and the 'punting depression' I touched on yesterday prompted me to leave them all off...

After yesterday and not backing/going down to shoppe (cos the 2 picks in race no 2 had shortened massive overnight) I just didn't have the energy to amend/trim down my selections,, i just aint on me game.. could be a while before i exit this slump,, might could be i've 'left the building' by the time I next find a right good few darts to throw..

Some good write-ups, as usual, ya have there j@u.. will be hoping some can oblige 😃 I think I'll wait til it gets dark enough, so I can justify going to bed and forget all about geegees and crapola odds 😂

GL with your chores an all 😊

Will chance one (going unbacked by me) at Newcastle,,,

    6.15

I wanted to will it for Burrows Seeside @ 4/1 to be the pick here.. a fair enough price, but I think he'll fall shy in this 6f event in Class 5 company.. has a good draw in 10, but I'm not overly gone on Graham Lee as a jockey; plus, even if former GN winning jock gives him a stellar ride, realistically I think something beats him... Burrows Seeside's trainer, Phil Kirby, also has the 7/2 (bet365) jolly Gowanlad in this, so that's a bit off-putting too for any of the former horse's supporters... summit to fink about at least..

Decided to plump for an old favourite in the shape of TATHMEEN ew @ 12/1 Paddy/Boyle . Has a good draw in box 11, usually runs his race, and is down to a rating of 64.. has won his races mostly off 70+ ratings.. mainly a 5f horse, but has won over 6f before... last twice has seen Anthony Brittain's horse tackle the minimum trip at the course.. his lto run was a decent showing, and maybe will give a good account - he's 'due a win' , as they say - at a decent double figure price.. was a bit shorter earlier on, and won't need to count on any of the shorter ones flopping to give Tathmeen a chance.. if he runs a good race, he goes close imo.. still, he might get beat ~2L and come 6th.. card don't look very appealing otherwise..

Will chance another (also going unbacked) ... will call it a 'longshot pick' ... not a massive price, and more a hunch,, nothing real solid as far as evidence goes..

5.45 DEFENCE TREATY 9/1 gen win

In other news, Munster likes DUSKY PRINCE 7/4 gen in 6.45.. if I had to pick one in that race, I'd go with Adrian Keatley's ALASKAN JEWEL 16/5 PP in that same race..

    GL all :)

About 25 picks at Lingers,, 2 nons, so 23 (I think - too tired to check) in total went to post.

4 winners @ 9/2 (Hit The Rocks 1.00), 12/1 (Eavesdropping 2.45) , 5/2 (Movethechains 3.20) , and 5/1 (Coolvalla 3.55) would have ensured a profit for level stakes,, so as far as picking goes = nt 2 shabby :) .... would surely have been a loss for me tho, as a lot would've been e/w picks,, no harm anyroad, as, as stated above, I didn't like the short prices, nor did I like the price contractions...

2 as's together there.... aint often that happens.... about 3/1 that they were correctly utilised insofar as grammar is concerned.. day not a complete washout 😅 if a mon, or wo-mon can find some sort e amusement where'er they are, then that's all good !

I will endeavour to find a pick in order to justify starting tomorrow's thread.

I see Onesmoothoperator finished 2nd again 🤣 In 5:15 maiden two market principles battled it out with Bruno's Gold coming out on top at the end, I think he won better than the winning margin's suggesting, ran around a bit green but he's gonna be a shortie next time out so nothing to get excited about, Thewaytothestars probably didn't appreciate the front running tactics or an extra furlong or both, I put her into my notebook to see what the trainer's gonna do next.

Glad it was 7 runners race that made me stay out of it.

ETA: I see Cam Hardie is working hard to improve his record at Newcastle, now he's got 3 winners over past 12 months out of ~160 rides. Maybe we should start following him 😂

oh sorry, I completely overlooked the #7, got over joyed with that winner perhaps... 12/1 shot would've been nice but no guarantee money had been on it with many others to distract.

Broctune Red finished 2nd in the last, money's back minus a few pennies that's good enough for me.

Will chance one (going unbacked by me) at Newcastle,,,

    6.15

Decided to plump for an old favourite in the shape of TATHMEEN ew @ 12/1 Paddy/Boyle .

He's out again tomorrow is Tathmeen, and back to running over six, after having his latest 2 attempts at the course with them both over the 5f minimum trip. Seems to be about a 6/1 shot atm for tomorrow's 7.30 at Newcastle,, looks very competitive that Class 5 race, and it might bear a decent look.. Had a look at the top two in the list (handicap) , and both One Hart and Athollblair Boy would have claims also.... to mention just three,, Cam Hardie's on top of Anthony Brittain's horse too, so Tathmeen will be sure to have his supporters on that basis alone 😄
