Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

Im an expat moved recently to Dublin, and thinking of buying an apartment 1 or 2 beds apartment.

I came across a house in Kilcross square as well as a nice apartment in Rialto , but I can see lots of mixed feedbacks about those areas, so could you please advice what’s your recommendations about those areas ?

Also I see lots of variations in prices within Dublin for example I came across one bedroom apartment in Ballsbridge with 385K while a house in Kilcross was 330K and two beds in Rialto for 290K , so what’s the parameters I should consider in my search ?

Thanks in advance for your support

Can’t comment on the other areas but I’ve lived in Rialto and I liked it a lot. It’s close to town, near the Luas, has the hospital nearby and as a result is gentrifying more quickly than some other areas of the city. That said, I would not advise anybody to move there unless they have some level of basic street smarts. I witnessed a violent assault once and I regularly found myself chatting to people who were clearly alcoholics or IV drug users. Never unpleasant conversations but you want to have your wits about you all the same. I believe there was a lovely sense of community during the pandemic with community aerobics meet ups and so on.
