You would need to have an actual long term housing need or a risk of becoming homeless ,and even at that as a single person you would be left languishing at the bottom of the list with no priority,
But apply and see what happens you have nothing to lose,grab a form and fill it in

OP - you dont say where you live so ive linked DCC website that explains how to apply for a council home, and what they prioritise, what their income limits are etc.

They prioritise the people with greater need, as they should.
