Hi everyone, I applied for social housing I'm on 30k a year which is within my threshold as I applied. I received a letter stating my gross income was over the limit. I was under the impression and from what I read on my local authority website that it was on net income not gross income. Can someone clarify if its worth appealing are they incorrect or am I wrong? Thanks.

It is net income. Appeal immediately

The local authority looks at the household’s average net income for the 12 months before they received the application when assessing if the household meets the income criteria.

Net income is the amount you are left with once income tax, Universal Social Charge, Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC) and PRSI are deducted from the your income.

Thank you very much. My take home pay every month is 2110.13 so I think im defo underneath the threshold of the 30k. I was a little surprised when I didnt get it i might of filled something wrong in the form myself so I will definitely appeal it. Thank you for the information.
