    Hi,

Looking to replace a broken hinge on a window that was installed by Munster Joinery back in 2006/7. Had got a hinge but didn't. The hinge I have is 18mm wide but has small feet that make it slot into the 15mm track. The hinges I got, and any others I've seen, do noth have these feet. Cannot find them anywhere. Any ideas? Tried contacting MJ earlier but couldn't get through. Will try again but thought I'd check on here too. I'm based up in Donegal.

Thanks massy but its a different type of hinge. It says cotswold on it but the problem I have is that all the hinges I see are 18mm (which mine are too) but none have the wee feet on the back, circled in the image.

you can usually get the service engineer out. got our local one and he replaced hinges seals and tweaked various windows. finding the name of the guy is usually the hard bit.

I've been on to MJ. Waiting to hear back from them (again). They said the hinges they have will fit all MJ windows. I don't think that's the case as other MJ hinges I've seen are different, so I've sent on photos to make sure they have the bits at the back of the hinge. Unless I'm mistaken and they're not MJ windows, it does say "MJ" in the window and few windows have an "MJ" stamp so I'm fairly sure it doesn't mean anything else.

Worth having a chat with the engineer to determine if he would be interested in some "private consultancy" (ie nixer) on future windows issues. Our MJ windows are out of warranty, damned if I am paying MJ prices for repairs etc.

I’ve been told it’s €27 a hinge! Anywhere else it’s €25 for a pair. Pretty sure it’s the same ones. They still haven’t clarified if the hinges have the bit at the back. Bad customer service….
