How do you get away from someone whom just goes on and on. You say hello and you you get tirade of unwanted information and you have to wait until they pause for a quick breath before you can get a word in or get away from them.

    Any solutions please?

The first second is crucial. Don't stop. Slow down to say your hellos how are you, but never fully stop. Keep your shoulder pointed the direction of your walk, never turn to face them fully.

Eventually you will be out of range that they are comfortable to speak at and they will likely carry on their business.

Wear a mask. Then they won't recognise you.
