Anyone know what the QR code that's dotted on all the pages is for?

You could always just read it and see what it says....

It comes back as a long string of numbers using my phone QR reader. So doesn't hit a URL or anything.

Was wondering if it's a security feature to ensure no tampering of statements.

The bank doesn’t care what you do with your statements and you could always fake it as well….

I’d imagine it’s a packing and distribution code. I saw a demo a couple of weeks ago at an insurance company and they were using them. The string was broken into a few blocks, so the documents could be routed and packed, things like:

    • number of pages in the statement so the correct envelope can be picked
    • country destination for postage sorting
    • special sorting and packing requirements to gain postal discounts
    • flags to indicate documents should not be posted, but retained for client collection
    • and so on
