According to RTE Glasnevin Cemetery scraps memorial wall after vandalism

it’s been vandalised again and they think the vandalism will continue.

Maybe if they remove the British casualties and dedicate it as a memorial to the Irish it would be left alone.

My great great grandfather is listed on this. It’s the only “Grave” we have as his body was identified but never recovered.

    little bit pissed off tbh

It is a disgrace that it is removed, and it is not right that it is being regularly vandalised. But it is crazy and wrong also that the names of RIC and British are enscribed on the memorial wall. For what reason would we wish to memorialise those who were the instruments of British occupation. The rising occurred precisely to excise those elements from our shores.

Take down the wall and rebuild it with the names of the valliant men who fell in the foggy dew.

    MOD Note:

This is utterly outside the scope and remit of the History forum and borderline trolling.

There's a special type that goes around vandalising memorials they don't agree with. They must have taken time out from their busy work schedule to nip down there with a sledge hammer.

I believe Joe Duffy is on the case too because it's the only place the children killed in the Rising are commemorated.

Disgraceful to think people keep vandalising it. Peace and reconciliation comes with the price of remembering and honouring everyone involved in a conflict.
