Huawei broken screen - tried transfer files not able to touch screen to debug etc

If anyone knows of a software that works without having to touch the screen, please let me know. I have tried the android file transfer, but cant use the screen to change from charge only to transfer files/photos.

Same when I downloaded fonelab or other similar apps to try - same issue - I cannot use the screen on the phone. My friend really wants to get the photos as it's from a recent family event, so I offered to spend some time at it but because the screen isn't responding at all, I can't do anything. Only thing that worked was system reboot, but then it wont do anything else as it's not compatible and needs to go to a service repair centre. And 300 for a screen replacement is more than a new phone so she got a new phone instead!

Any ideas? Thanks a mil 😅 I am aware that some software are risky....but have to try something.

What is the exact model? Have you tried using a mouse with an adapter?

model is ELS NX9.

I hooked it up to the laptop.....not sure what you mean about using a mouse with an adapter?

Is it just that touch doesn't work on the screen? Or is the screen also black?

Hi, the screen is cracked and flickering. You can see the main screen, with notifications showing and battery charging etc but you cant do anything as in swipe doesn't work touch doesnt work etc.

Try directly connecting a wired mouse with an adapter (if your device supports it) to the phone.

I went and got the cable for using a wireless mouse. Now navigating my way around the phone. Trying to change the settings but also connecting a laptop at the same time would be easier! So I'm trying to get the phone to do transfer by usb when I connect it to the laptop next. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip about the mouse. Never thought of it.

UPDATE: All photos have been saved! I used Anydesk remote access to copy the files as the file transfer app wasn't working.

Pity that wouldn't work on a black screen! But that's for another day should the need ever arise 🤐
