Having a music bed under the news used to be unique to Spin 1038 but in recent times it has spread everywhere, is it only a matter of years before RTE radio 1 has one ?

Not sure Radio 1 will ever have a bed under the news, but I am sure I heard a few days with a bit of a beat under the weather report on Morning Ireland. when the new image package was revealed recently. I think it lasted about two days .... I wonder what the reaction was?

I heard that too when the new package came out. Was very surprised. Not very RTE Radio 1 !!! probably was scrapped thankfully.

FM104 have always had a music bed.
2FM have had one for quite a while as well.

I think I heard it recently on Drivetime before 6 so it's probably still going around but not tolerated on Morning Ireland.
