Any Truth In This About Leather Seats?

I brought my car to a valet guy (I know he's decent as he did a great job one a van for me before)

I wanted him to clean the leather seats in my car,I hoover and clean the inside every couple of weeks and the inside is spotless but the seats are a bit dirty.I tried stuff on them last year and it did an alright job but I didn't want the hassle and would prefer to pay somebody who knows what they're at.

He told me the few cracks in the leather (barely visible now) would really stand out if he polished up the seats and it wouldn't be a job he could do.

Did anybody ever hear something like this before? No really doubting him but I just want my seats cleaned and protected or whatever it is they do.

I've attached pic to give an idea

It’s funny how I’d never looked to get this done before, but I read your post before checking FB, and this “magically “ popped up!! 🙄🙄

Cant answer your query, but maybe they can 😂😂

The cracks may stand out more because your leather will be cleaner and hence lighter, depending on how discoloured it is.

    You can do this yourself.

Just use some CarPro Leather cleaner on it. You can dilute it down, so start with a lighter mix and increase if needed. Try in an inconspicuous area first.

You can get it off Reflect Auto Care online or in D15 if you are in Dublin as well as elsewhere.

Following that, if the cracks are very visible and bother you, then get some ColourLock dye in the colour of your seat and apply. That will fill in the light cracks and also correct the fading that usually occurs on the bolster.

Then condition with an appropriate conditioner.

    Cheers for reply!

I suppose my thinking is I had a go at it last year with OK results.

I'd be happy to pay somebody who knows what they're doing and has the equipment already .

I'm in the west, they're doesn't seem to be many people doing this service
