Looking to move my gas meter, only about 10 feet on the same wall, closer to the front of the house so not extending pipework. Can a RGI plumber do this or does it have to be Bord Gáis Energy. Any idea in the cost in this?

    thanks

How can you move it without extending the pipework?

Pipework from the meter is your responsibility and can only be modified by an RGI plumber. Bord Gais will move the meter and modify their pipework once your pipework is in place and certified. I think there's a standard charge for a meter move.

I need to move it closer to the front of the house, the gas line comes in from the front so i'm not lengthening the inlet pipe, and the only out going pipe goes up the wall to the boiler in the attic. so it will need to be re routed as well. My main question really is can a RGI plumber move the meter or does it have to be Bord Gais and then another RGI guy to go from the new meter location to the boiler
