Hi folks, my child will be 20 months old in early June and hoping to bring child on his first holiday, not sure where to bring him though? Was thinking somewhere in Portugal or Spain , never been in either country before though. Looking for a place that’s child friendly obviously , with good facilities and maybe even resorts that might suit a child of that age. Would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have ?

I found a place, All-inclusive that had a nursery where I could put the little one in for a few hours so we could go rest for a little while or just have lunch together like we used to do!

I liked that we didn't have to worry about heading out to find a place to eat. Same if we were by the pool we could just order something poolside. Or when ever the little one got hungry!

I was worried as all-inclusive has a bad rep but I found an amazing hotel that was such a high standard it was worth spending the extra on it. Look at reviews, Make sure food is ok, Booze is alright and that they have a young kids club. Then you will have a great time. The brand I went with was Ikos.

we went to the Alps a few years ago with a 10 month old.

campsite with log cabin, indoor heated pool. restaurant onsite if we wanted to eat and a summer ski village 5 minutes walk for bars and more restaurants

    amazing views from our doorstep,

    best holiday we ever had

Anyone any experience of the algarve or suitable resorts there? Seems to be where the others are thinking now

Well, there are gondolas operating and ebike rental in most alp resorts during the summer to get up nice and high. We rented a car for duration of trip and drove most places - into Switzerland and Italy a few days

Some of the campsites are quite good
