    Hi all,

Can you recommend a nice Central hotel in Berlin for a weekend break for 2 ?

There's so much choice I'm not sure we're to begin. I'm thinking Mitte but open to other area.

    Thanks a mil

    Motel One Berlin-Hauptbahnhof - Stayed here pre-pandemic.

Its usually good value and its close to the main railway station , good for transport links and plenty of shops for food/snacks and other bits and pieces.

We stayed in Casa Camper a couple of years ago in the Mitte.

Great location, great roof bar upstairs which doubles as breakfast room. Great breakfast too!!!

we loved it and would definitely return

yeah, a good rule of thumb in German cities is to pick a hotel near a big train station. They usually have a shopping centre with longer opening hours than elsewhere (esp Sundays) and you can get anywhere quickly.

theres a German hotel chain called Intercity Hotels at some stations that are very good value for 3star level accommodation. I’ve stayed in one at Berlin Ostbahnhof that I found well located and comfy (though it’s been a while).

    berlins a blast. Enjoy.

Scandic Hotel @ Potzdamerplatz worked well for us and was very reasonably priced at the time. Adjacent to the Sony Centre & beside train

I've stayed in the Park Inn and The Hampton in Alexanderplatz. The S Bahn and the U Bahn are nearby and there's lots of choice for food/shopping in Alexanderplatz.

I agree with the poster that mentioned Inter City hotels as they are generally attached or besides railway stations plus they provide a free public transport pass for the duration of your stay.

Another option is Premier Inn. They've only recently moved into the German market taking over a number of other budget hotels or building brand new hotels and are excellent value.

The below deal site can work very well. I have used them before, and they were great to deal with for covid cancellations unlike lots of other travel companies I had to deal with.

Stayed in this place a few years back, it's quite close to the Hauptbahnhof, and I think it's part of an Australian hotel group. I'd stay there again if I decided on a return visit 😀
