So how has your church faired through Covid?

We initially started compiling service content offline and uploaded it to YouTube. With lockdown easing we moved big time into online streaming.

We purchased a high-powered PC with a good graphics card, a high spec PTZ camera and a new sound desk. Connected to the internet via 48 (line of sight to a nearby mast). We then taught ourselves OBS and backfilled the main camera with mobile phones. We are using EasyWorship for lyrics and scripture readings and bundled everything together into OBS - single PC, two screens, plus projector. We were all new to this so a steep learning curve. Return to church has been slow for many people and I would not be surprised if there was some who do not return. The livestreaming is popular with normally regular attendees and a few strangers, but not exactly a mass-evangelism tool - it does serve a need though and costs us very little after the capital cost. From checking out a few other churches it does come over as quite professional as opposed to complete amateur, but I do need to be more disciplined switching scenes..

What have you been up to and what has the response been like?

Have you set up a donation hotline/link? I set one of these up for my local church. Wasn't that hard, I get a 15% cut, and the software does all the work. Not raking it in obviously, but a steady, small stream direct to my account.
