Hi all

This morning I was traveling on a main road in my car, the bus in front of me pulled in at a bus stop but still on the road. I had space to move around the bus, but there was oncoming traffic which didn't need to move over for me, as I came up towards the front of the bus a car was pulling out of a driveway directly in front of the bus trying to make a right hand turn but couldn't see me or the traffic behind me due to the bus parked outside her house, anyway I hit her driver's side panel by driver's front wheel, she contacted her insurance stating I was wrong, any feedback would be appreciated

Talk to your insurance and give them an account of the accident. The bus would have likely had dashcam, ask the company for this.

I haven't notified my insurance either did the woman in the other car, she did contact her own insurance but not mine so her insurance are sending someone out to look at both the cars etc the bus has dashcams which will be giving to AXA insurance I'm just trying to figure out who was right and wrong etc

It be interesting as the cause of the accident was the bus... the point of impact will have a bearing... did either of you take details of the bus...

The cause of the crash was driver inattention, the bus was an obstacle both drivers should have expected another vehicle or person could be coming around and driven accordingly. OP just contact you insurance and let them deal with it, write down everything that you recall from the crash and if you have a dash cam save the footage.

At a guess I would say the other car. Your on the main road and they pulled out in front, no matter where you hit they didn't give enough time to cross traffic

If the bus was stopped on a bus stop all ok... if half of the bis was on the public road it was stopped illegally therefore blocking the view of the person trying to access public... therefore part of the cause...

Regardless of how or where the bus was parked it was an obstruction on the road and neither driver handled it correctly. There are only a few times it's illegal to stop a vehicle but it's always the responsibility of people passing obstructions to do so with caution, especially buses as there's a chance a pedestrian could walk out from in front of it.

Other driver most likely completely at fault. Coming from a driveway, traffic on the road has right of way. If their view was blocked by a bus, wait until the bus moves off before pulling out. They didn’t, and they got hit.

Completely the other drivers fault, they should have let the bus go so they could have a clear view of the road, crazy driving, could just have easily been a motorbike/cyclist passing the stopped bus

Pulling over means just that... off the road... however if you have not left the road clear you are either illegally parked or disrupting traffic...

If the bus is in a market bus stop within the bus stop area all ok...

Figure this one out...

I had a very serious accident on a single carriage main national route some years ago.... came across brow of hill going as fast as 2l petrol vectra would go... there was a car stopped in middle of road with no lights on with people in it and i hit it and (miracle we not all killed) Three in the other toyota banger and i had passenger...

The point is the other party were found in court 100% responsible for accident... This actually happened...

Was it interfering with the road where it was stopped... the same traffic laws for buses as us...

Really not sure what you're on about here. It's not relevant. It's still the responsibility of other road users to not make matters worse by being careless.

If the bus was stopped on the "public carriageway" (which is an exceptionally normal, standard and legal occurrence) then it's the responsibility of other road users to drive according to that reality.

If you pulled into oncoming traffic to get around a stationary bus that was dropping off passengers; would you blame the bus because you ended up in a crash?
