Roof Battens, where to source?

    Hi all,


    I'm looking to buy roof battens for cover an ugly old block wall with a slatted fence. Anyone any ideas where the best place to source these is? Am i as well off go to a saw mills? Wall is approx 20 m long and

    sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm looking to do something similar in my garden to cover up a block wall.

    I looked at some treated rough 2 x 1 in local hardware shop and they indeed looked very rough nowhere near what id be happy at looking at once up. Is it a case of sanding these down a bit once they are up to make them appear smoother ? Wall is 12m wide and about 3m tall so it would be a lot of effort.

    struggling to find any alternatives that don't cost an arm and a leg .

    There's no point in finishing treated rough sawn, you'll remove much of the preservative.

    Treated PAO is available at reasonable prices
