Bought the car in July 2021 and have put 17000kms on it since. (Too long between oil changes I know)

Went to look up the spec and Ford recommends ACEA A5/B5, the car has a DPF?

I don't know who did oil changes before I had the car or what they put in, but I certainly won't be putting a non-DPF friendly engine oil in a car that has a DPF.

I've decided on ACEA C1 or C2. Either will do I think.

I just want to know if any engine oil nerds out there can provide me with some knowledge that all will be well using those ACEA specs instead of the "recommended".

I think the ACEA C1 would be best, Lowest SAPS but a higher HTHS rating than ACEA C2.

Also around the same as ACEA A5/B5.

I think I've answered my own question.
