Feedback Japanese Cars that are Imported

    Hey Guys,

I am a newbie driver and looking to buy a second hand automatic car. Mostly finding imports from Japan only within my budget and criterion. Can ye share your opinion about these imports:

    1. Is it better to go with imports of Japanese makes (like Toyota, Honda) or the European ones (like VW)?

    2. Any feedback you have on the Honda Shuttle Hybrid 1.3L car? It is eventually the Honda Fit with a bigger boot space.

    Thank you guys.

The European brand jap imports are essentially the same thing as European models, just with nice spec.

Some of the JDM specific stuff are targets for thieves, so do your research on specific models. Toyotas seem to be very vulnerable.

had a few imports insight and one other

    great spec- clean - reliable

    u can get European spec insights ( I’ve one fully kitted - cruise/ air con/ auto lights/ wipers/ heated seats / mirrors )

I find Honda to be fantastic

shuttles brought here generally are fairly bland compared to the fit hybrid

shuttle is a fit estate really

es( European spec)mines nice but tbh the 2010 insight I had (import ) was spotless and like new in comparison to the ES one I got from the uk

id also a jap Suzuki swift absolutely like out of the showroom no issues whatsoever bar the huge difference in MPG- insights were 60/ 67 mpg

swift was at best 43 mpg

My family had a few back in the 90s in our family- two Hondas a city (Jazz) and civic. Had ignition problems with the City, the civic had some kind of engine management issue! Would lose power etc but if you left it for a few mins and started it again it would be fine. Mechanics seemed a bit clueless back then, I’m sure it’s a bit different now but it’s kept my wary ness of Jap imports high still.
