Does this work? Does it work on all landlines or only on some?

Very limited, I don't think any Irish landline companies support it. Last time I heard it mentioned was Eircom circa 20 years ago.

About 10 years ago (very roughly), a friend of mine had been texting my landline (Binatone phone I think) instead of my mobile. Pure fluke I noticed it, but the texts were there on the landline to read.

    What's a landline? :)

Fixed SMS was removed by OpenEir in 2015. Most Irish landlines cannot do it anymore.
