    hi all i bought a 161 toyota rav4 2lt diesel a few months back,im sending it in for a service soon,i want a major service done,you know everything,like filters,oil,plugs ect,so anyone have any idea of costs,and what is really done in a service,i mean will they really change the glow plugs etc,have heard of story's where half the things that should be changed,are not,or would i be better of diong it myself?thanks

    Open the user manual and there is all service intervals. Everything is possible to do DIY. Only suggestion for next time car buying. Do not trust the story "everything is serviced". Ask lower price and replace all fluids ASAP. Other story is to look the car service interval and what oil and filter you using. If there is fancy 25000 or more set interval, do not expect any cheap regular oil or oil filter can last so long. You can set the car service interval remainder lower accordingly you oil quality, filter and engine load. DIY is good, you know exactly what was done and when
