Dog treats,oxygen absorbers and poison

    I certainly wasn't aware that if you buy dog treats manufactured by a certain highly reputable (German) supplier, the small packets of oxygen absorber (note: not silica dessicant) that are in the packet are very poisonous for small dogs in particular. They are actually marked "do not eat" in fairness, but this is a warining for those who like me were not aware of the special danger to dogs (and cats one presumes).

    My Sheltie ate one one time. I took him straight to the vet and she gave him stuff to make him throw up. No harm done.
