Much to my annoyance, Storm Barra felled a large oak tree on my land before Christmas - picture attached. They are seven foot posts in the foreground, for scale.
It has pulled up some fencing with it, which I will need to sort before too long, so I plan to get a contractor in to saw up the tree. Using it for firewood would be a bit of a waste, given the shortage of timber in the market at the moment. But I have no idea how to go about selling it, however, or how much I should ask for it.
Any insights appreciated - thanks in advance.

where are you in the country? there are a few companies which have mobile sawmills who might be interested, e.g.
