Moving from UK to Ireland - Tax exemptions on car?

Hi all, we are looking at moving from London back to Ireland later this year. We own a car which we will be bringing back with us. I know there was a VRT exemption before Brexit but does this still exist and is there any benefit to bringing back a more expensive car or electric car??

You should also check how much the annual motor tax will be, some cars which may be relatively low in the UK £300 for example could be a lot more here, our maximum varies to €1809 a year for pre 2008 cars up to €2400 for cars post 2008. A car at this level of motor tax will generally have very limited potential for sale here and you would be better to sell it in UK and buy something else when you get here. Electric cars have a flat €120 rate regardless.
