What should you look for as extras when buying a new car?

Also, when getting down to haggling the price any suggestions that could help lower the price?

    Thanks in advance

Unless you are looking for a non supply constrained, not popular car, then you have no leverage on lowering asking price. In fact, there is waiting lists for several models with buyers lined up to even pay over RRP.

Huge demand for cars means dealers need not offer discount. Good extras are heated seats if not standard. Auto lift on boot also interesting

There's likely 3 or 4 spec levels for each model of car, cost for each will be slightly more, that's where to ask for a discount, not saying to the dealer you want heated seats fitted in to the poverty spec model that had manual windows.

  • Most cars come with pretty good safety kit now, make sure your choice comes with as good as you can afford. And air con, which keeps windows nice & de-misted.
