Want to get a platform, about 8ft (2.4m) for between two ladders to get access to paint high walls or stairwell-

Would this be safe to make and use? platform of 2x Cheshire Mouldings 2.4Mx47X50 Treated Sawn TM1081 and 12mm plywood on top.

    or, buy a scaffold plank?

I wouldn't chance it mate, you can buy a scaffolding plank for a tenner.

Long, long time since you could buy a NEW scaffold plank for a tenner, but that's what I used last time I painted a stairs and landing. Stick it up in the attic when you're done and you'll have it for another job.
