Have the following storage room on the top floor of our house...

Underneath the mdf is a water tank and pump...

Would I be correct in saying it wouldn't be advisable to put too much weight on the mdf?

Any suggestions on what type of storage solution i could put in here? It's a block wall to the left and back. To the right it's a stud wall.

What's the length of the MDF on it's longest side? Hard to tell from the pic.

Anyway, if it were me, this is what I'd do:

The green line looks like there's a piece of timber running to support that piece of MDF on the left. If this isn't attached to the wall on the left, I'd add a few battens (blue lines).

Then I'd put a few red battens across to support the other piece of MDF, and stop it bowing in the middle. Position the further one away so it's not going to interfere with the pipework there.

Should be grand then, but still wouldn't go stacking it with super heavy stuff.

Also if I was using that for storage I'd probably also build a very basic box around that expansion vessel (big blue yoke) to avoid it being accidentally whacked when putting stuff in / taking it out.

Thanks and apologies for the slow reply. The MDF is 180 cms on its longest side.

I took off the MDF again and took better pics...

The last pic there the timber and mdf is just free standing! Held in place 4 small door bolts locks.

So you think a few red battens across (as in your pic above) will suffice here?
