Hello, I have given this alot of thought but due to personal reasons I wish to resign from my AP1. I have been in this position for 4 years. I am looking for advice as to how to go about this. I am working in an ETB and wondering if anyone on here can advise as to how to best approach this with management-are there specific steps I need to take. I have looked for information online, but have found very little.

Just send an email/letter to HR outlining that you want to resign from the AP1 position. Send a copy to your principal. Depending on whether or not you are on good terms with the principal or not, you might have an informal chat with them first and tell them you are doing so.

If anywhere near retirement this will hit pension to tune of 3k a year for life

I just saw this. It's nowhere near a hit of 3k on a pension. It's closer to 2k. Your pension is roughly half your post tax income.

Can you not negotiate your post? Renegotiate

A thousand here or there won't make a huge difference to you when retired. Assuming your kids are reared and your mortgage low enough.

Even if that's not the case there are easier ways to make money.

Of course if teachers were not afraid of their shadows wed all get decent pay increases.
