    Hi there

We got a Triton tx8500i electric shower installed on Friday.

It seem to work fine for Friday and Saturday.

However, now the On button does not click in. You need to press it in and hold it with your finger while having a shower.

Any suggestions what the problem could be?

    Thanks

I've never come across this model before so I'm assuming it's from a UK store & has no warranty here in Ireland. If it is a faulty part & a UK shower then you'd have to return entire shower to wherever you got it from. Installer is unlikely to do this for free unless he supplied the shower.

Are you sure it's a Triton TX8500I? A Google search suggests that it's an obsolete model with a power dial rather than an on/off button https://www.showerdoc.com/triton-tx8500i-shower-spares

It may not be a faulty part though. I do know the Triton T90SR & T80Z very well though. They can have the same issue you describe. The problem is usually with uneven walls or tiles. ( I hate to see DIY tiling jobs. They can make my job much harder than it should be.) Installer screws shower tight to the wall & it bends very slightly out of shape. This stops the button engaging correctly. Solution in this case is to slightly loosen screws pinning shower to the wall

I have a Mira that did this after a few years. I bought the replacement part and swapped it out. It lasted another of years and I had to change the part again. It was easy to do, and I'm guessing there's a design flaw. If yours is failing after 2 days, I would be calling the installer.
