Sealing around a shower tray

Water leaking around a shower tray caused staining and damage to the ceiling below. There were layers of sealant and a strip of "bath seal" trim which when removed leaves about 10 mm between the bottom of the tiles and the top of the tray.

Just to be clear: I mean there is a 10mm vertical distance between the bottom of the tiles and the top of the tray. Not a horizontal gap between the tray and the wall.

Raising the tray may be difficult and certainly not my first choice. I found this product in Woodies:

    Homelux Bath Seal White ( Over Tile ) Sealastrip 1.83M | Woodie's (woodies.ie)

Will this be effective in preventing leaking (in combination with silicone sealant)?

    Any alternative suggestions?

Any tips for installation to avoid leaking (especially at the corners)?
