'Hey Google' Defaults

    I've just installed Google Assistant on an Amazon Fire 10 HD tablet. My intention is to wall mount it in the kitchen, with a small no of icons that make sense to wifey. The home screen is customised fine, with a small number of working apps. My problem is setting the default behaviour when activated by Google Assistant and whether/if this can be controlled. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    I want music (Spotify) and radio (Tune In pro) to always play on the Sonos speaker in the kitchen. Both these integrations with google home are set up, but they play on the fire HD tablet until I change them manually, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

    I want the doorbell (Eufy/Homebase 2) to display on the tablet. Google Assistant doesn't recognise the tablet for showing the video/live stream, only a Google Nest device or Chromecast. When the doorbell rings wifey has to hit the Eufy icon on the tablet, to see who's at the door.

    Google Assistant doesn't recognise the eirTV App at all, so I haven't managed to start this via voice.

    I haven't even started looking at the tablet to control the central heating. Currently I'm using a separate Evohome screen, but hope to integrate this, later.

    As a start if there was a way of permanently linking the tablet to the Sonos speaker, it would be great. (It will be permanently powered, with screen set to always on.)

    Straight off it sounds like you'd probably be better off with a Google device rather than Amazon.

    Otherwise you could tweak your commands to be play xyz on *name of speakers that you've added and setup on Home app* or even add the speaker to a group with the tablet and leave the tablet volume turned down so while its technically playing on both you'll only hear it on the speaker.

    You're not going to get a perfect solution with the setup as it is I'd imagine.

    @breeno thanks for the help.

    There is no perfect setup for what I want, especially where I want to bring it to.

    I have wall-mounted the Amazon fire HD in the kitchen, permanently powered and permanently on. It currently provides a neat, and cheap, solution to playing, music, radio and TV. It also acts as a kitchen timer, general information source and controls the house lighting (Philips Hue). I've also installed a Home Assistant client that will be used for further home automation.

    Your suggestion re Sonos was spot on. I just have to say 'Hey Google, play RTE radio 1, Kitchen' and it works a dream.

    However, I still can't automatically stream from the Eufy doorbell, as it would appear that this needs a Chromecast client. If you know of one for Android 9 it would be great. There are ones on the play store, but I'm unsure whether the are ok. (I don't want the video stream to be diverted via a dodgy site :))
