what kind of antenna connection is this? samsung 43 au9000

as per the title, samsung 43 au9000 doesn't appear to have the standard rf connection I've used on other older tvs where i could connect an old rf cable with a hanger on the end to pick up saorview. Can someone help me identify what this is and what type of antenna I need to buy to connect to this for saorview? Thanks for any and all help.

How is it different from your older TVs, except maybe that it's not recessed?

That looks like a Belling Lee socket which is the normal push-in terrestrial aerial type.

On older tvs (2007, 2009, 2012, 2017) I just pushed this cable into the antenna socket without any issue

on the samsung connection posted above it wouldn't connect, there was resistance (?). I couldnt push it in to fit correctly.

Thanks for the help. Just googled belling lee and thats what the male end I was trying to connect looks like (see the attached photo above). It seems like the samsung female connection is too shallow? The silver part of the photo above is roughly 1cm deep and when I try to push it into the samsung connection it stops short without fitting.

the older tv the silver semi circle female components look longer and fit into the connector

whereas the samsung seems much shallower/shorter.

Am I being an idiot missing something obvious?

with the connection loose it does actually work but it should be fitting in snug like it does on every other tv I have access to, right?

Would of thought so. Might be worth having a look at the display model in the Harvey Norman you bought it in to see if it matches your TV

thanks for the reply. i saw that video but couldn't see inside the antenna but did find this one which shows the same shallowness with the thick brown piece surrounding the female connection part

The Samsung connection looks to have a fair bit of 'spring' in it, so you probably just need to push the plug in a bit harder.

thanks for this. after reading this post I gave it one more attempt and it went in with a bit of force. took it back out to make sure I hadn't broken anything and boy was it a tight fit. I could see the socket moving a not insignificant amount as I attempted to pull the cable back out. Had visions of the internal motherboard (or whatever the socket is connected to) flexing so won't be doing that again anytime soon.
