Loved her as Rose. She was so amazing. Sad she didnt make 100.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I loved Rose, but I got a great kick from her appearance in The Simpsons. Chalk and cheese. RIP.

Ah that’s sad to hear - I was hoping Betty would make it to 100 and beyond.

The last of the Golden Girls has now passed. 😢 99 is amazing innings - I would be living to 2074 if I (highly unlikely) make 99!

Rest In Peace Betty White xx

I will value that PBS tote bag as much as I value the umbrella featuring a picture of that tote bag, as long as I live. RIP.

One of those people who was universally admired. A shame she died so close to her 100th birthday but to get to 99 and still in decent health is a very good life.

Great actress, she'll be missed. I liked her in The Golden Girls but equally in all those small parts in Malcolm in the Middle, That '70s Show, etc. She played the part of the mid-west grandma type so well, sometimes kindly, sometimes scheming.

    RIP

Just heard the news today. Very sad, but she led a very long and extraordinary life. Only a few days ago she was talking about and looking forward to her 100th birthday, which would have been on 17th January. Unfortunately she was just shy of that milestone and seeing in the new year.

Outstanding actress and great comedian. She was just brilliant in so many things. While Rose from the Golden Girls was a firm favourite. I really loved her in Lake Placid and Boston Legal. A true legend.

No one could have played Rose so warmly or so well. I never watched her Cleveland show, but Paramount is featuring her hilarious bloopers today. Her laughter is contagious. RIP Betty, you comic genius!

Can't find a link to it but I saw a sketch she did, as herself where as an elderly lady she was sitting by a swimming pool sipping a cocktail. The camera panned to a similar aged lady who was sipping her drink in the pool. Betty asked if she could get the lady anything and the lady said yes. Betty picks up a small bell from the table and rings it. A gorgeous young man appears in the pool and climbs out to admiring glances from the lady in the pool. Betty turns to the camera, picks up a huge bell from under the table and says "can you imagine what happens when I ring this one"?

Sexist? Yes... But also quite funny.
