    Happy New Year folks !

3.20 Catterick ILAYA ew 11/1 gen Nb

Topweight in a handicap. Last time this mare ran in a Class 5, she won. That was 2 years ago at Newcastle off 102. She ran a few good races after that, including another win at Newcastle off 113 in a Class 4, but hasn't done much since on account of going up in the weights and running in higher grade races. Indeed, she hasn't done much at all since, with a lot of poor/mediocre/moderate runs in the last year and a half; but her third last run (although a while ago in March) was decent, so she must retain some ability. She's down to a more favourable rating of 105, having been as high as 125.

She came a good second over C & D in March of 2020 on soft ground, and was unlucky not to win that day, being nabbed late on in the home stretch. She's only 7, and Micky Hammond is top course trainer. The jockey Miss Becky Smith has won on her before too. Goes well on soft ground, and she'll more than do for me..

Looks like it could be a possible Hammond plot job - could go off way shorter,, just a sneaking suspicion...

Will give her the Nb (next best) vote in case I find a better one that might be more Nap-worthy 😋

    G'luck all 😊
