Probably a silly questions but if i buy a 2.4 GHZ devices (security camera) does my mobile always needs to be connected to the same 2.4 GHZ channel to control the app settings or is it just for the initial setup that it needs to be on the same ?

I have a dual wifi setup with a number of devices already on the 5 GHZ channel and control them from my phone on the 5GHZ network.

    Cheers

generally the mobile apps and smart devices with work over the internet so you shouldn't have any issues once both have a solid internet connection.

also more often than not when you have home wifi and 2 separate ssid for 2.5ghz and 5ghz they will technically be the same network anyway and devices will be able to speak and see each other after initially setup.

i.e. your phone on 5ghz will see devices on 2ghz and vice versa.
