AIB Green personal loan

    Hi,

I was looking at the AIB green personal loan for an EV car.

The loan has to be applied through mobile app or request a call back.

I used the mobile app but was confused. The loan was advertised as - "You will need to spend 50% or more of the money on a green initiative".

As an example I entered in 20,000 for total loan amount and 55,000 for value of green item. The app immediately say "Your green items must be less than your total loan amount".

I tried different values like 20,000 for total loan amount and 40,000 for value of green items and still say the same thing.

Only way it works is if I enter in the same amount for both total loan amount and value of green item(s) or the value of the green item is less than the loan amount.

Am I just thick and misunderstanding something here? It seems to be telling me that I have to take out a loan amount equal to the value of the car or more? Has anyone used this green personal loan before?

They aren't looking for the total value of the green item, they are looking for the portion of the loan that is related to the green loan. So in your case if the full loan amount is for the green item then you enter that number in both fields.

Thanks for the clarification I was guessing it's the same thing you're saying. The wording of it made me thought it's the value of the entire car that I need to put into that field.
