I doubt it could be replicated now. OK it could but it would not be based today it would have to be at least based back 22years ago before all the restrictions and security in airports and before digital boarding passes and passports. 45mins to get from a house and unto a plane not a hope. You would almost spend that long This day and age at security and that is why I do not fly anymore and have not for over a decade :). My carbon emissions are quiet low to so I do not have to feel guilty on a flight.

You needed to suspend reality a bit even back then. Eight-year-old shopping on his own at Christmas? No mention or sign of parents? Social service would be all over that in a heartbeat.

Easy availabilty of wi-fi would kill the storyline too. And if there was no wifi at the house for whaetver reason the kid would have gone crazy with the boredom...

They literally just released Home Sweet Home Alone a few weeks ago. So they did replicate it.

Ha. Personally I am not. I was on 10 planes on one year in 2010 and decided a break was needed. Sure it would be nice to go abroad somewhere but I am going to wait till things calm down. No way could I go on a plane wearing a mask.

I would get on wearing an astronaut suit if I had to!

I was in about 50+ flights in 18 months and yeah you can get sick of it, but I would kill to get on one now.

Many films of the 80s could not be made again as they are sexist and their treatment of women.minoritys. also everyone has a cell phone now even kids

Its a kids film its not meant to be realistic. If you think about the plot makes no sense. But its a perfectly scripted story with a great cast of characters and slapstick humour. And its still.worth watching.
