Pretty bad around where we are. Fortunately our place is OK, but roads around Bridgetown and Kilmore seem pretty impassable and reports of bridges collapsing and roads not only swamped with water but a lot of debris (including some substantial rocks) blocking some roads. Take care and only go out if you really need to.

  • Riverchapel is flooded as well; have family there. Terrible to see on Christmas Day.

Was on the road from Dubin to Ross today. Road flooded between Clonroche and Donnelans. Lad in a Beemer conked out, but it seemed anything Qashqai or higher was able to get through.

We turned back and tried to take the Adamstown road at the filling station, but that was flooded a little way out of town.

Turned back again and tried our luck on the Cloughbawn side, badly flooded after the church. Tried the little road in between by Floods, there was a lad thigh-deep in a flood in the next dip trying to clear a dyke.

Turned back and tried the R735 through Adamstown. That was blocked by an ambulance 5 minutes along. Turned back and headed towards Bree. Lot of water crossing the road here https://goo.gl/maps/AaGHv2YPX7iA4RLs7 but got through it tf. Thought we were ok, but got turned back one more time before Ballyshannon Lane, lad in 4x4 stuck there. Finally managed to get on the Wexford Road at Camross.

Clear on the way back apart from down to 1 lane on the Gorey bypass.

The fact that this amount of flooding and damage have occurred has got to bring into question whether a status yellow rainfall warning was nearly accurate. Was it adequate to ensure that people and property could be prepared and protected? Were the council ready for it or were they caught by surprise?

The flood waters in Enniscorthy are riseing again this morning. Templeshannon Quay, Abbey Quay and the Prom are all under water, closed to traffic.
