.22lr Bulk ammo

Hi all I'm wondering how many here shoot bulk 22 ammo and if so what type?

For "proper" shooting I use CCI standard but bulk ammo has a place its better than dry firing :P

I'm quite fond on using Federal champion bulk that comes in the 525 round packs but I've noticed the price on those packs has crept up from 30 euro to 35 and now 40 euro in some places

What are the other type of bulk pack available and at what price ?

Bulk/loose ammo is fine for plinking/general shooting if your rifle likes it, which goes for any ammo. Bulk/loose ammo is generally cheaper; QC not as good though, therefore more misfires and degraded accuracy. CCI, Fed, Remi, Win are all bottom of the RF ammo ladder. CCI is probably the best of the bunch.

End of day the type of shooting you do and the accuracy you require will dictate the rifle and ammo requirements.

I shoot benchrest, consistent high accuracy requires so ammo has to be Eley, Lapua, RWS and some SK.

Ive bought off them before but they no longer seem to stock federal champion bulk , or any type of bulk bar federal field packs

Correction they have 525 federal packs for 34.95

Anyone know a stocker of the new Eley bulk packs?

You get what you pay for. If you want one hole results at 50m (OK a big 12mm hole) then bulk ammo is not the ammo to use.

My take is that the gun will always shoot better than I will, so for practice or fun I'll plough through bulk ammo.

Where you want accuracy go with whatever your gun likes(cci standards for mine, usually).

But there are few days spent better than plinking away with a bulk pack of 22 and spending bugger all doing it.

My .22 will shoot federal champion in about a 1" group at 50m(odd flyer..) which is plenty enough for shooting steel gongs etc

Irish shooting sports are doing CCI Standard @4.75 a box which is nearing the price some dealers are charging for bulk stuff😐️

I see SK Magazine for €69.95/500. Where's the logic in buying that when SK Match is €7/50?

I cannot understand why SK magazine (loose/bulk) is so dear compared to other SK RF ammo.
