Bus lane suspended....

On a two lane road, with lane one being a bus lane, and lane two being a normal lane, does a sign saying "bus lane suspended" mean you can drive in it like an ordinary lane?

The road I am thinking of is the outer ring road in tallaght and I have attached a screen capture from Google streetview where you can see what I mean.

    Cheers

Yes, though you don't actually need the bus lane suspended sign, once the blue bus lane signs are removed it is no longer lawfully a bus lane.

DLRCoCo have been erecting signs like that on Wyckham Way for a decade now. They even re-painted the road, keeping the bus lane road markings but also the signs saying to ignore them. I'm guessing there's some odd reason why they don't just remove the road markings.

Dundrum has one as well which no one seems to take notice of. I suppose it's just quicker and cheaper, especially if there is any chance the lane will be used as a bus lane in the future.

    Thats what I thought.

I travel this road twice a day and the amount of people not seeing the sign is mad. Then they beep me when I use that lane while they sit stationary in a queue in the right hand lane.

You have just confirmed what I thought i knew already.

    Thanks

Yes you can and should use it OP, i use that particular one all the time, and i'm usually the only one.

Before i ever saw one here i saw them mentioned on a driving tuition programme in the UK, where the instructor said you could fail your test if you didn't use it. Of course it would probably be the opposite here!
