Gmail Conundrum

I and my wife both have Gmail. I have a ancient Iphone3. My Gmail is saved in my home screen and my wife's (who also uses a tablet) in my Bookmarks.

If my Iphone is in airplane mode or if no internet available I can still read any historical emails and open any pdf. file attachments, however while my wife's (historical) emails will also open, any attached pdf, file will not open. However if the (her) email has been forwarded to my Gmail then her email + the pdf.file will open with no internet connection. It (original email+pdf file) will open on her own tablet with no internet available.

Any thoughts on reasons for this??.

It sounds like you're using the app to access your email and using a shortcut to the web version of your wife's. The app will keep all historic data saved to your phone but the bookmark you've made needs an internet connection to access Gmail online.

Try adding your wife's account and a second account to your Gmail app and it should perform like your own email.
