All other electrics function good, all circuits are switched to on.

Put on the thermostat, adjacent switch is on via the light, thermostat is on via the light.

4 hours later, no hot water.

    Is there something I'm overlooking?

Immersions own internal overtemperature trip may have gone. Wouldn't advise someone who doesn't know what they're doing to look for the reset as it is often near to live terminals.

Is this the most likely cause?

I ask cause the landlord has a dude that can sort it but I just want to be sure I'm not missing anything obvious before contacting.

Without knowing every intricacy of the setup I can't say for sure but it's fairly common. If you've not been shown how to use its that's a landlord job anyway

Did you check for a time switch?
