Rai Channels .FTA 13e Hotbird

    Rai 1 HD, Rai 2 HD, Rai 3 HD. Rai Sports + HD and more in HD.Nice to see the channels in HD. Don't know if it's permanent. 13e Hotbird

    Only temporary as they closed down the SD versions on the 14th and most of the main channels will be HD only next year.

    It's FTV so to see it full time you need to buy a tivusat card. You can only buy with a receiver or CAM and you need an Italian PRSI number to activate the card.


    They are even offering scrappage on old TV's if you can't get HD https://nuovatvdigitale.mise.gov.it/

    Is there a source (in English preferably) that confirms that RAI are moving their TV stations from FTA SD to FTV HD? The TivuSat website link you mentioned doesn't seem to make this clear or not. In any case, the current RAI1-3 SD feeds on Hotbird are used by a lot of cable headends across Europe as well as numerous satellite pay-TV packages on 13E (inc. Polsat & Kabelio as well as Sky Italy) and my assumption would have been that these new HD feeds are a direct replacement for the soon to be cut SD channels?
