4x4 Transfer Box Mystery

    Hello

Driving a Rexton 2.7 with selectable 4x4. When jeep is put in 4 High everything is fine. When I select 4 Low there is no power to the front axle except in reverse!! No engagement of the front axle in any forward gear or movement of shaft from the transfer box, except when put in reverse gear. Tested this with all four wheels off the ground.

Can't be the transfer chain or a transfer case fork because in 4 High everything works fine. The front hubs are manual lock, so no issue there. And no warning dash lights, or noise from transfer box, no vibrations, no rattles, no leaks.

    Anyone any ideas?

Wouldn't even bother attempting to repair this. It is probably wanked internally.

Just get a replacement gearbox from a scapped jeep
