VAT /Customs on car from NI

Hi Folks, just wondering what is the situation with importing a 22 year old car from NI, the car originated in England but was brought to NI in March 2007 and has been there since (this is confirmed by the V5 cert).As I understand it, there is VRT but no customs/VAT to be paid, could anyone else confirm this please? Cheers.

Correct. But there is a nox charge. Up to 600 euro on a petrol or up to 4850 euro (I think) on a diesel.
