I can't seem to find a driving school that offers lessons for a category DE test.

Is the category DE common? Or do most people get it by doing the CE instead?

It's done by getting the CE licence.

You won't find a driving school in Ireland to do it for you, it's only common with European countries and companies who use them on European tours and even at that it's rare.

I haven't seen any companies in Ireland use a trailer on the back of a bus or coach

As has been said, most get it with the D and CE. I do recall seeing a bus with a trailer in the Finglas test centre years ago but I don't know if it was a driving school vehicle or a private individual doing the test with his own bus/trailer.

@ Kopparberg - I used to work in Dublin Airport and you'd see them occasionally there. If you have 50+ passengers with a full suitcase and hand luggage each, you'd struggle to fit it in standard coach.
