Lost channels on Freeview

I'm not even sure if Freeview is the correct name but a few months ago I got an installer to set up a dish so I could get the free to air channels such as BBC, Channel 4 and those random ones such as CBS, Channel 5 etc. I have an LG CX TV so the channels themselves were tuned through that.

I noticed howevrr tonight that I could no longer get a signal from the likes of BBC HD or BBC 2 HD. Ive also lost those test channels for UHD etc.

I retuned automatically and now BBC HD isn't even appearing. Is it possible my dish had been moved slightly since the storm? Is there anything else I can do myself before I get on to the installer?

I still have BBC Wales HD oddly enough but no sign of the proper channel. Im sure I'm missing others too but there is still a good batch appearing like e4 and film 4.

Hi Joe, 'Freeview' is really the name for a group of similar channels received through an aerial in the UK.

'Freesat' is a collection of 'Free to Air' stations received through a dish, meant for the UK, but also available in Ireland.

Your TV might support Freesat, if you select UK as your location at the initial set-up, though you might loose the RTE player if you do that.

The benefits of that would be that all your satellite stations would be more organised, and you would not have to retune in the future if channels change frequency in the future.

Here is a list of the free stations available

    https://en.kingofsat.net/tv.php?&pos=28.2E&standard=All&ordre=freq&filtre=Clear

If you are not using Freesat on your tv, you could try tuning in your missing station using the settings on that list if you look for something like ; Manual Satellite tuning , in your tv menu.

Saying all that, you could be right about the storm knocking your dish out of kilter a little, especially if your remaining channel pictures seem to be braking up in the rain maybe.
