Read it in a letter to the papers last week and couldn't agree more. Every time you hear someone saying that the Government (or State) should pay for x,y and z, you should substitute the Taxpayer into the sentence. If you want to make it more personal, you can substitute your own name.

So 'The Government should pay for IVF treatment' should be changed to 'The Taxpayer and Blackcard should pay for IVF treatment'. The Taxpayer and Blackcard should pay for 100% redress in the Mica scheme. The Taxpayer and Blackcard should provide free housing for all, free education, free Healthcare, free antigen testing, free public transport, should pay more to the wage subsidy scheme, PUP scheme, compensate businesses more, should compensate Blackcard for the dodgy job that was done on his driveway, for the burst tyres caused by a pothole and for the broken arm he suffered when he fell down legless on his way home from the pub.

Take note that Blackcard is fed up paying taxes and expects to get all services for free from now on
